Understanding language dynamics in health care access among Francophone migrants in Ghana.

The project looked at health care access by Francophones in Ghana and the language dynamics of interactions between Francophone patients and healthcare personnel as well as health communication among the Francophones themselves. Considering the fact that Ghana is bordered by Francophone countries and that our teaching hospitals are referral centres of international repute providing certain specialized treatments that cannot be found elsewhere within the sub-region, patients come from across the sub-region to access health care at these hospitals. This project was significant because it filled a gap in knowledge of language-related issues of francophone migrants in Ghana.
